To Sit and Do Nothing?

Yeah! That's something I forgot to put in my previous post.(Did you even notice it wasn't there or how I arrived at it?)

"To sit and do nothing". I really don't see why you should at anytime sit down and do nothing even when you are on top. Many people wish to be on top and are ready to bring down if you stay there doing nothing.

"To be on TOP prepare to STAY on TOP"

This Folk-Tale and Other BIG BIG Words.

This God-knows-where-it-came-from folk-tale taught me great lessons this morning and I made up my mind to employ a whole new approach, not only to blogging but every other thing I find myself doing. This is the first seed.

The folk-tale goes thus,

A crow sat on a tree doing nothing...when a rabbit thought to do the same and sat on the ground, a tiger came and ate him.

Moral: You need to be on TOP

I was able to figure out from this little story that :

1) Being on TOP does not necessarily mean being the best, but being in control of whatever you find your hands doing. In a more 'subtle' way, "keeping your shit together". This entails being able to identify Wђat exactly you want to achieve,taking the bulls that come your way by their horns and differentiating between constructive criticisms and shear hating.

This has taught me to be selfish as much as I'm self-less, approach every action with boldness and pay less attention to people who demoralise me by demeaning my efforts to becoming a better person and on the other hand, not to be distracted by those who shower on you, cheap flattery (its cheap when you praise without a proper appraisal).

Being in Control of whatever you do is the pathway to being the best at whatever you do.

2) Create your own unique style and create a niche for yourself with it. The crow is a bird and can fly. That makes the crow unique. Its easier for the crow to be on top of the tree, far away from the tiger just as it is easier for rabbit to run and hide in its hole, where the tiger can't reach. We are all unique one way or the other but we can't appreciate the uniqueness until we utilise it.

This has taught me that no matter how much I try to combine Wole Soyinka's vocabulary and Ikechukwu Ofili's sarcasm, I may never be as good a writer as Fisayo Eko-Davies (www.fisayomi.blogspot.com). However, there's an Adekunle Adesayo that you want to read in this blog that these very great people can't deliver and it will be great injustice to deny you of that. Same goes for every other area of my life too.

Please know that it is not that the rabbit can't climb up to the top of the tree, climbing up the tree is not just as unique for the rabbit as hiding in its hole. Thus, you achieve more being unique than trying to be someone else.

Along with these lessons, I considered the other big big words like CONSISTENCE,DILIGENCE,SELF-CONFIDENCE,METICULOUSNESS, INTEGRITY,ATTITUDE.... I really can't remember all and some I don't even know Wђat they mean but the break down of these words are ready to make a big difference in my life and maybe in yours too.

So no matter how small the folk-tale is or how big the word is, we can take out a lesson from every experience that comes our way.
